I've read in the past that they just need to be built properly - evenly tensioned and tight. Worth trying? worst case I could always get the wheel rebuilt if I don't get on with them, assuming that the hub and rim don't get ruined in a horrendous wheel wobbling accident.
I have been using revolutions with 240 hubs and 717 rims for over six years. Broken one spoke in the rear which was caused by a rock otherwise they have been perfect.
I am light though 62kg so I guess they don't get the battering a heavier rider might give them.

Absolutely fine. I always buy wheels and then give them a session of relieving spokes (squeezing pairs) and re-tensioning/truing. My current front wheel has got Rev spokes and I don't give it a second thought.
Been using them for a few years now, no problems. Peaks, Lakes, Trailcentres. Rocks. Staircases. Don't listen to everyone who says they're duff.
Been using them for years without problems, don't go to jump spots or downhills, but use them for everything else.Like any wheels, a good build will make a difference.
lovely. looking forward to my new light weight wheels!
When Specialized first did the really burly 6" travel Enduro in circa 2005 they used Revs in the wheels. They'll be fine.
Depends slightly on the rest of the build. My other half has a pair of DT 240/Rev/Olympic wheels, and whilst VERY fast, they're scarily flexy, even under my 10 stone. - the hubs have the flanges a long way in (front especially) so there's not that much triangulation. You can feel them twist as you load up into a corner and then spring out again.
My DH race bike came with the dt 1750 wheelset which use these spokes. It's taken 2 years of regular use for them to start failing at the rear, which has now been rebuilt. the front is still going strong after 3 years.
I'd have no worries about using them. I don't think they're worth the extra money though and have rebuilt with standard double butted spokes.

WTF?
