Hi chaps,

Ive got a spare pair of Hope Pro2 evo hubs, but should I lace my LB carbon rims to a new pair of dt 240s hubs instead?

They look a chunk lighter and possibly spin free'er and need next to no maintenence....

Or is there another hub in the same peice range i shouldnt overlook?

Cheers

Ricks

DT Swiss if you can afford them. Great hubs and, as you say, less draggy.

Ive a little cash from a bonus at work, and rather than just build up what I have im tempted to build some even nicer wheels and sell my hope pro2 wheels instead.

DT is definitely the better hub- they have 2 downsides basically, price, and the centremost bearing in the rear being a pain in the bum to change. But that's OK because it lasts for ages, since it's so well shielded and sealed. Everything else, they beat Hope at- weight, reliability, sealing, no funky bearings...

The price difference is pretty significant though- DT are a hard sell new but a brilliant used buy.

Basically I reckon if you're going to build high end wheels, use high end parts.

Have both hubs and the Pro2 Evo's are great but get the DT's superb hubs.

Treat yourself to the Dt ones or maybe some stans 3.30 but they are no as well sealed but still better than the hope ones imo

I just picked up some DT 350s at a silly price from bike-discount.de.

They're pro2 weights but scream understated quality. Apparently they are 240 internals with a cheaper, less machined shell. Had cash flow not been a problem, I would have picked up a second set for my other wheels too.

If im spending any money then im going full put for the 240s. I may as well stick with the pro2s if Im being tight fisted ๐Ÿ˜‰

I dont think the stans will fit the bill, need to stand up to DH runs and enduro races.

Just about to order some LB rims to go on my DT 240 hubs.
Have a set of 650b LB 30mm Hookless built onto Pro 2 Evos on my Nicolai and have lasted really well and look good after a year. Around the 1600g per pair in weight.

Hoping to get a lighter set of LB carbon rims to go the the DT hubs to go on my SC 5010.. Hoping for around 1500g pair.
