Todays ride was better than summer.
Fast, fun and stuff that's un rideable in summer due to the local unmaintained [s]footpaths[/s] tracks was clear of arm and leg slashing brambles.

Oh and I've got my SS mojo back. ๐Ÿ™‚

@singlespeedstu- I rode those exact same trails today too (but with a load more added on). Who'd have thought it?! Small world, eh.

geton.

We cleared a great singletrack loop out in the woods over Enville Comon too.

Tight, twisty and half a dozen log crossings.

Where do you mean by Enville Common? I know there's the Million and Highgate Common but not Enville Common. ๐Ÿ˜•

I did my favourite long loop: Fens Pools > Cotwall End > Baggeridge > bridleway and descent to Wombourne > Tinkers Castle > Highgate Common > Swindon > Million > Kinver > home via Gibbet Wood and the canal.

Nice pics.
Denmark was really good as well, more traction than in the summer, velcro, and lots of speed..

Luke.

Not far from you going by your profile info.

Give us a shout if you want showing round.

geton.
Highgate Comon is sometimes refered to as Enville Comon. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Just watch out for the sausagejockeys in the woods. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

That makes sense then. There's loads of singletrack all over there. It's great fun scaring the doggers when you're on a night ride. It's one of my favourite past times. ๐Ÿ˜†

Indeedy I did the same short trundle as Richie, again great conditions, anyone know what the crack with the sticks on the main path through the million (we cleared them, if you didn't see them). Another stickman , or is due the the m/c tyre tracks, that were through-out the wood

Dry you say. No, can't offer any pictures. We once again have covered in snow trails. I was hoping for a frozen blast across the moors and instead its a wet snowy sloggy. Its snowed again this morning and i have got back in bed.

Some great looking pics there. It's been super dry here both in the Malverns and in the Forest (where I think SSS's pics are taken). Best get out again today then to take some ๐Ÿ™‚ Snowed a bit here last night, but cold and frosty now.

Wow. Enville Common. Lovely.

Is that gap in the wall bit over Baggerige / Himley way? Nice riding. (PS my old man's a ranger at Himley and likes to walk his GSD over there once the park's closed - she's pretty friendly...)

A far cry from where I cycle now but do miss riding from Penn down through Penn common, Baggy, Himley and up the railway walk back to Penn. Ahhh.

Twas lovely out behind my house this afternoon. I went up to the loch, which was frozen over. Deer all over the place, bogs mostly frozen enough to ride straight over - superb.

Rubbish pic. Would have been ace had the iPhone decided to operate the shutter when the bike was in the air about a second <--- that way ๐Ÿ˜‰ Still another ace day. Cold and Sleet kept the hoards off the Malverns so had much fun on rocky/steep side on silly 150mm FS bikes. It's cold, but it's so dry. Three rides in the last three days, no bike washing. More of that please.

Is that gap in the wall bit over Baggerige / Himley way?

Yep it is .
Well spotted.

Though i wouldn't advise riding it as it's a [s]footpath either end of the trail and a private woodland in the middle[/s] rubbish trail to ride. ๐Ÿ˜‰

bedmakers.

Fat bikes - righteous

Fatbikes rock in any weather but extra rock on the frozen rutty stuff.

Can we have the mud back please? It's taken me 8 months to get dialled in to muddy slippyness, and now, i'm back to square one, and far to chicken to commit to using all the lovely dry grip that has sprung out of nowhere! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Best bit of todays ride? (other than someone taking the mick about all the gold bling on my bike ๐Ÿ˜‰ Getting back, getting bike out of car, brushing bike down, putting bike straight in garage. Like, totally totally awesome dude, i was competely stoked just about that.........

The Peak was susan-perb today. Frozen ground, light dusting of snow and next to no slippy ice.

[img] [/img]

Only had time for a swift Mam Tor / Beast circuit - would have been a great day for something more substantial. Hopefully it will stay frozen for a bit longer.

Didn't have a camera with me yesterday unfortunately ๐Ÿ™

Nant yr Arian was lovely, next to no wind, dust and a few patches of ice to make it really interesting!!! Thought the icicles on the way up the leg burner were excellent.
