Had a fun evening just seeing if I could DIY a remote for my i900, managed to do it with a deore shifter modified with ratchet and downshift lever removed, a v brake noodle and some other bits and pieces.

It looks flippin awfull, but it works really well.

Just wondering if anyone else has done it and how?

Great effort but how are you going to push the lever as it's above the brake lever without taking your hand off the bars which really defeats the objective??

Yeah the saddle (a fizik ti giro!!!) is awful but comfy.

valleydaddy, er by using my thumb, that is how I will reach it! Can easily reach it whilst in normal position without taking hand of bars.

One of them Rockshox remotes would be ideal for that. Might need some work to get it to pull enough cable.
