So, I've just bought a new bike and it came with an X-Fusion Manic dropper which seems to be pretty decent. I also happen to have a Fox Transfer SL that fits, same drop and all that. The one thing I don't like about the X-Fusion is the fact that the cable is ran the other way round, clamps at the dropper end and nipple at the lever end.

Would you swap them?

no, unless weight is an issue? the SL only has up and fully down right? if weight is an issue then swap

you can always swap a different leaver on i guess?

You can set up the X-Fusion with any lever so it clamps the cable at both ends. Means you can use the Fox lever with the X-Fusion post if you prefer that (and want the easy set-up/adjust of the lever clamping).

A new bike I bought came with a fox factory transfer.  It was lovely..... when it worked.  I sent it back at least twice for a rebuild in the first couple of years.

Worked fine for a few months then got sticky. Not only that but a complete PIA to service judging by the official fox instructions.

I've had much better reliability with the cheaper brand x and ks posts so I would go with the x fusion

I have a Fox Transfer... it constantly gets stuck in it's lowest position, necessitating a *bum bump* to get it to return. I;ve had cheapo dropper posts which are much better.

As pointed out... you can clamp at both ends with that kind of set up. My BikeYoke sort of works like that.

Well, I've gone and done it, the Transfer SL is so much nicer than the X Fusion and I never had an issue with it over the previous 10 months of use.
