trying to keep this brief
I’ve got a KS Rage i dropper on one of the bikes that’s starting to show its age a bit
its getting a bit slow to come up and then occasionally needs a bit of help to get to get the last inch or so up
cables checked, have taken it apart to clean and make sure everything’s as it should be but still the same result so thinking the air cylinder / shaft thingymabob needs changing
Not ready for wireless just yet and not keen on hydraulic so considering a swap for a One Up V2 as that has an air valve to top up the pressures
What say you, singletrack hive?! New air cylinder or new dropper

My SDG Tellis went the same way (and the stancion weirdly got really worn over the course of a few rides). Binned it and bought an Ascend and its been superb for £100. So much so I've now got Ascend on 3 bikes and quite fancy putting one on the gravel bike too. Full after sales support, cheap, spares easy to get hold of etc - bargain.
I’ve got an external routed ascend on one bike and it does seem to be doing the job handsomely
the tight a*** in me is thinking go for a dropper with a valve to save some time / effort / replacement air cylinder costs
OneUp V2s have served me very well. Plus, the only time I did have a small problem with one of them, OneUp were great to deal with - quick response, no quibbles, etc.
I'd go for a Bikeyoke revive. I have two on bikes. Just serviced the 1st one I got, which is about 4 years old. £25 service kit and half an hour of my time and it is like new.
I've gone through a lot of droppers.
You've tried the obvious cheap fixes and failed to resolve it, I think a proffesional service would at this point be throwing good money after bad.
Best value for money I would say has been the one up.
