[Closed] Drilling bottle mount into 45650b seat tube

Afternoon folks,

The Steel On One 45650b only has one bottle mount on the down tube despite having ample room for a second mount on the seat tube.

The 45650b has DN6 double butted cro-mo tubing, whatever than means.

Is this a terrible idea? ย I have access to a good machine / metal workshop who could do a proper job for me and insert threads etc.

Warranty aside, what are the cons? ย What are the chances of aย cataclysmic frame failure?

Do you have rivnuts and access to a rivnut tool? Drilling the hole without a threaded insert is pointless...

Do you not want the space for a dropper or to be able to drop a regular seatpost?

There's plenty of band-on options about, but nothing to stop you doing the rivnut thing if you want to.
