Was about to undertake the bleeding of my brakes and was wondering if there is any difference between car dot5 brake fluid and bike dot 5 brake fluid?? Apart from the price should be the same stuff right? Please advise.

Its unlikley that your car will be using DOT 5.
If 4 would mix with 5, will 5.1 not mix with 5?
Considering the OP refered to it three times as DOT 5 it's worth correcting them.

Rockhopper - MemberDOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 are similar fluids and can safely be mixed with each other.
DOT 5 is totally different and must not be mixed with anything except more DOT 5
Silly Question but what bike brakes are they some use Mineral oil rather than DOT put the wrong stuff in and it will destroy the seals
