the house gets all dressed up, you see your friends and family, eat and drink more than perhaps you should and get to look forward to nice shiny bike bits on Christmas Day. But, above all that, you bring something into your house that you never have for the rest of the year, something which brightens up your day no end....

it means time away from riding to visit people even if you dont feel like it
you end up eating and drinking to much because of said enforced socialising and then have to fight to get fitness back
pubs are full of onceayearers pissed as arseoles cos the calender says they have to be
you get bought things you dont want or need for which you are supposed to be eternally grateful
woul;d sooner have a forced break in summer when its more use
having got that off my chest the sun is now shining so I'm off to lee quarry for a couple of hours to take my mind off the rapidly approaching tedium (sp)
