And if so just how water proof is "very water resistant" as the description claims?

Cheers

I wear one but purely for off bike use. It is quite water resistant and the water beads up on it. If you used it to cycle in you will die as it's 'kin warm.

They're shower proof, in a 'soft shell' kind of way rather than waterproof. I also find they are quite short in the body.

Nice jacket if it fits you though.

Cheers all, I'm not too bothered if its too hot as I'm looking for a winter jacket and too hot is better than too cold.

Problem is that CRC seems to have the nicer looking older ones only in munchkin size and the newer one looks cack. Oh well back to the drawing board, any recommendations welcome for waterproof hooded all rounder biking jackets.

Like monkeychild, I've got one but I'd never wear it on the bike. No ta. But it's a brilliant light jacket...

It's not all that waterproof mind, though it does dry quick. I'm kind of curious why you want a hood for a bike jacket, doesn't make much sense to me, and there's so many great quality waterproof jackets out there without them it's a shame to restrict your choice.
