As title. How do they compare against 5tens? Similar amounts of grip and stiffness?
TIA
Me!
Theyre about as grippy as FiveTens when weighted up, but far easier to correct a miss-placed foot.
They don’t really work in the same way, they seem to rely as much on the pins finding the tread as much as the rubber griping like, well rubber, but it works well, it just seems a bit disconnected when your sat peddling until you’re used to it.
For me they’re a lot more comfortable, lighter, dry much quicker and a touch stiffer.
I’m really happy with them.
Thanks P-Jay! Great help, think I might invest in a pair. How do they size up?
I also have the Adidas Terrex, but I don't use them for anything other than flat route pootles as the grip isn't that good, which is surprising seeing as they now own 5ten...
I’m a 9 in street shoes so ordered a 9 (madness I know).
They were a touch narrow on the first ride which was a bit of a worry as I have wide feet, but after an hour or two of breaking in time they’re perfect. They’re way more comfortable for me then my 5:10 Elements or Sam Hill’s and second only to my old Teva Links which were the most comfortable shoe of any type I’ve ever owned.
I've gone from waffle sole Vans to these as 5:10's arnt big enough for me (uk11.5). As above the sole didn't seem at all tacky when trying to squidge them by hand but they do grip well. Seem a bit wider than the half cabs I'm used to wearing and stiffer which I didn't like at first but soon settled into them. Dry well and don't seem to hold much water.
I've always had Shimano road/commuting shoes that have been great over the years hence trying these.
