just upgraded to a carbon 456 from a summer season nice bike but im missing the slack head angle from the ss, i know you can buy a couple of headsets that change the head angle has anyone used one of these in the past or use one now and if so what do you think ?

I bought a Works Components head angle reducer, and it is a good headset. Have had no problems with it. Only downside is they aren't cheap!

hi thanks simon i know £75 seems pricey but if it works- any installation probs?

to late juiced only really sadly did it because i couldnt get a decent dropper post for it , tried the x flow- not a good experiance and a gravity dropper which was ok - i stupidly thought that the ha woudlnt make a massive difference, it does

I didn't install it, I let my LBS do that, I read the instructions and it said that you have to get these 2 grooves on the cups, top and bottom, directly centred on the bike, which to me would could cause the most headaches.

I've got a works components angleset on my enduro, its works fine and was no problems to install.

I installed one, well made, does what it says on the box, no problems installing and there's some tolerance in the things anyway - used a combination of a steel rule and some thread to line everything up, then no harder than pressing in a conventional head-set - I don't know whether it would be any harder using the STW-approved sledge hammer and brieze block technique.

You'll notice 2? all right, will make a significant difference and may also improve the climbing by steepening the seat angle at the same time.

I have K9 arc's in my dh bike.
very nicely made and has markings for alignment so fitting was quite easy, I put masking tape on the frame and marking the centre line.
they don't come with bearings; I didn't see this as a problem at first but after finding all my local bike shops couldn't supply them I found myself having to buy a complete hs to poach the bearings as I was short of time. this made the purchase considerably more expensive than the works components item.

Has anybody have a photo of the 1 1/8th works components headset. I can only find 'coming soon' and proto images on pinkbike - but not the actual product?

I could take one, it's just plain black and slightly larger than conventional external head-set cups though.

mine is a 1 1/8th works components headset, I dont have any photos, but it looks pretty much like a regular headset, but with a marking to indicate orientation.

I've had it for a couple of months now
