Hey guys

had a thought ages ago about all the stuff I have bought and sold on the forum classifieds?
do you ever wonder where it all is now?
what it has been built into?

first is a Marin Rock Springs which I bought off metal_leg built up with;
forks from greasy stain
wheels from kingtut
brakes from valleydaddy
now has some recons from leku

next is an on-one inbred frame bought from piemann
was orginally built as a 1x9, with bits from my "parts bin"
but the forks came from the classifieds, marzocchi z5's someone from cardiff area steve m(dont know stw user name)

it has now been turned into my dedicated tourer, again the parts came from "parts bin"

and next is 531 raleigh road frame bought from vdubber67
This was my girlfriend's birthday present, this was built up with mostly new parts and a few bits again from the "parts bin"
this was a big hit with the girlfriend

finally upgrades to my xtc saw
wheels from tiboy
brakes from forgotmename
rotors from flamejob
rear mech from smoothie
shifters from jasonm945
cranks from charlie g
other things but pre stw hack so cant remember find members - stem, seatpost, bars, front mech,

i'd be interested in what happened to my Haro escape 8.1 frame bought by dylan08,
and manitou skarebs sold to freeadsingle, i know he sold them on
sold other bits but too much to remember.

sorry for the mammoth post, not 100% what my post is about, but hope all the people that have sold me bits see that they are still in use, especially the frames that have been built back up

I once used a seatpost I bought, in a brutal gangland killing.

I'd love to know.

If anyone from the Royal Mail would be kind enough to locate them and tell me, I'd be very grateful ๐Ÿ™

I sold my old S-Works M4 full sus frame on here years ago. It was one of these frames:

(not my bike, that was just nicked off Google Images).
Anyway, I met up with the guy at Glentress, no probs with the sale or anything. Next thing I know he's converted my full on XC race frame into a slightly longer travel comfort tourer, courtesy of a machined linkage from BETD to up the travel. I saw pics of him in Morocco on it, he had it years, travelled all over. I then saw him selling it on here again not too long ago. I was really happy that he'd had such good use out of it. The bike had got me round 24hr races, onto podiums etc and it had got this guy half way round the world. I hope that its 3rd owner is as happy with it.

Your record keeping/memory is very impressive.

I do like it when someone posts a pic of their bike and I see a bit I sold them on it.

My 456 and my BMC frame both headed to the highlands, so i guess they're still lost in the snow somewhere.

Perhaps some of the money should have been diverted into floor board purchase ๐Ÿ˜‰

I once sold some Marzocchi Super Flys on ebay to some one called WA1975 or something. Name was Warren realised he did this website.

Then saw them for sale some years later on Ebay.

PS ebay was much smaller then

Rusty Trowel, I also have the Trek you sold me in a car park outside Poole.

Still going strong and the worn bar tape from your wrist - still on there - lol!

TINAS - the cannondale is being used regularly. Its currently dressed up as a bit of a CX bike but may have normal wheels put on it soon. It is a great bike ๐Ÿ™‚

I will confess to being very curious about:

Dialled Bikes Love Hate that I bought, used for 6 months and then sold (not for profit) on here. I traded up to a Cotic Simple and now a Fisher Ferrous.

SantaCruz Superlight I know it was in Mountain Trax a couple of weeks ago.

Cove Stiffee (purple) although that may well have gone via Ebay and also my Yellow Yeti ARC (also EBAY).

Not really bothered - just interested.

I like to sell stuff to people who are going to use it rather than to people who are going to sell on. Its nicer. Just is.

My Ragley MmmBop with Veedubba's RS Pikes I bought off him...

[img] [/img]

Also, bought an Easton EA50 seatpost off Firestarter a few months back for my Pompetamine build - but gave up on that project to build up the MmmBop so will inlude it with the Pompetamine frame when I sell that soon!
