Hey,
As a few of you know I have a 4 year old son called Joel who is profoundly autistic. He attends an amazing special school and gets tons of love and support. Research is a huge area that needs funding and the National Autistic Society are looking for people to take part in a 3 Capitals Bike ride next year clicky here
Registration fees not too high but you have to raise aboout 1400 quid min sponsorship. Im gonna sign up to do it but my partner and I have decided that we both cant do it because we stand no chance of making the sponsorship (as we know all the same people) dont want to ask for 2 lots of cash off everyone. I was wondering if anyone would like to do it with me and support me? If we come from different places we stand a chance of making more cash. Ive mentioned it to a couple of friends who are happy to sponsor but no one likes riding bikes as much as me. So if you fancy teaming up I'd love to hear from you!

Hello, I am very interested in helping you out, I work with autistic kids and know how much value autism specialists and research brings. I will be able to get a lot of support from my local high school, (where I work).

If you would like to email me, then we can discuss it further.

My email is in my profile.

Hi beefy,
umm being a bit blonde and cant see your email on your profile. That sounds great though, and fantastic that you work with autistic kids, im sure you know how challenging it can be 🙂 I know I'm totally worn out every evening and Joel too! Its so frustrating that so little is known about autism.

Sadly probably unlikely to help, but is there an unusually high number of MTBers who work with special needs kids? I seem to know loads of them, and they're all incredibly cool people.

Loula, try setting up a page on the 'justgiving' website. You could post that link on here and I for one would be quite happy to drop some cash your way.
