I've got vaults on my FS and an old pair of v8s on my hardtail, I'm too lazy to keep swapping pedals over. The vaults are way grip pier than the old v8s but the budget can't stretch to a second pair. Anyone know how the superstar nano flats compare to the vaults and v8's?
Other option was nukeproof electrons but I like the concave feel of the vaults and the electrons have a raised middle
All I know is the older V8's are the hardest wearing pedals I know of. I have a pair from a good 15 years ago on my freeride bike, where I go through a set of pedals a year on the xc and the hybrid...
Nanos are lighter and gripper than v8s, plus have sealed bearings. not as grippy as vaults, probably not much in it weight wise between the two. Nanos are good pedals, would recommend if the budget doesn't stretch to a second pair of vaults.
These are brilliant, have them on a couple of bikes and at that price hard to refuse.

Same as Nanos, bit cheaper...

Or wait and see what Superstar do sales-wise.
I just bought Saints for £35 from CRC..
I much prefer my nanos to my v8s, though the comment above about longevity of v8s is amazing. Don't touch mine and they're over 10 years old.
Why not a set of the new V12? Think CRC are doing them for £40. Great pedal and as good as the vaults Imo
New v12 pedals bodies are made of cheese, hit two pins and bent the pedal body. Fortunately you can bend then back and replace the. Pins just as easy.
Nano's next time for me
Nanos are great, I've had several sets on different bikes.
I'm about to be selling a pair of red ones (I've got green ones now). In good nick, no seal issues , although some of the colour is wearing a little?
Unless the newer V8s are very different, then the Nanos are lighter, and have a bigger platform... Much, much better in my opinion. MG1s are also good - but if you can get Nanos in another Superstar sale then go for it. I got my son a pair for Christmas - at £26 they were too good to miss.
Nanos are streets ahead of V8s. Both in terms of grip and how long the bearings last before needing attention.
Can't fault my Nano's at all. Got them on both of my bikes and they're goung strong after some rides in foul weather and plenty of pedal and rock interfaces. They've done better than my old Azonic A Frames which looked much sturdier but used to lose pins as soon as they saw a rock.
Got both Vaults and Nanos. Prefer the Vaults as I have size 13 feet and they have a bigger surface area, but there really is very little in it, they're both excellent pedals.
If money was no object I'd buy another pair of Vaults, but I'd happily buy another set of the Nanos and I'd say that in terms of value for money they're the best pedals I've ridden with

Bend a pedal body? Or do you mean bend an axle? Never heard of a pedal body bending before
I would def recommend the Nano through pins. I had 2 years riding out of them before the bearings packed up and they took a right beating and never lost a pin. I replaced them with the Nukeproof Electrons but found them really uncomfortable and in 3 rides I snapped a few pins, I did find them grippy though. Just splashed out on some vaults but not fitted them yet so cant compare. I have owned V8's before but it was a long time ago so would be unfair to compare, wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair of Nanos again though.
