Has anyone ever used the DMR V8 Pedal Servicing Tool I have found at Evans. I thought one could just whip out old bearings and re fit with new. does this just make it easier?
V8s are loose balls with cup & cone.
I could have done with one of those when I tried to service mine as I couldn't get the cone/locknut right.
Anyonme else know if this works?
not sure what the tool is but suspect it's just to enable simpler pre-loading of the bearings after you put it back together?
Link?
He could be talking about the £15 press tool they sell. Personally I use the back end of a 1/4inch socket extender and maybe assorted sockets. Works a treat on Crank Bros pedals as well.
Drifting slightly off-topic, get yourself an M4 (I think?) brass nipple, some clear tubing, and a larger syringe for keeping the pedals greased.
