Simple question, when using a post-to-I.S adaptor, is there any compatability issues by brand? Im sure they should all be the same but want confirmation before I make a purchase!

I want to drop from a 203mm to 183mm rotor on the front, Hope M4, but the Hope branded adaptor is more expensive than other options (Shimano, Magura, Hayes etcetc), and the size I need I can only find in silver and ideally want a black one to match the calliper body.

In short, can I mix and match calliper and adaptor brands without sizing/spacing differences? Cheers.

Yep, it's usually fine. Avid aren't so happy on Shimano 160mm adaptors but you should be fine with an Avid 185mm adaptor or similar.

Nice one!

In case anyone is interested in doing a reversal of what I plan (i.e. swap from 183 up to a 203mm rotor) on a Hope M4, I have put up an ad for rotor/adaptor swap.

Hope floating rotors usually rub on the adaptor - nothing a file can't sort out though. Formula's older adapters were perfect for Hopes floating rotors but now they use the same crappy big ugly things like Shimanos.
