I'm off there after work tomorrow and have no idea where the trail starts in relation to the car park.
Please can someone give me some rough directions or landmarks so that i can figure out where to go.

Unless you want to pedal miles round on the fire road you are probably best pushing up the track. The track finishes in the carpark as you enter on the left.

If you zoom out slightly and look south west you will see the track in the open, as it enters the trees at the top it goes straight up the slight clearing/path and then there is some flattish track at the top.
Park at the bottom on the grass (not in the car park), take the left fork in the road, head up the fireroad until you see a rock garden on your right, push up the trail to the left.. have fun
