[Closed] Detachable electric motor for bike?

Hi I've got a commute that would be sweat-free (therefore shower free!) if it wasn't for one dammed hill 🙂 I was wondering if there was a cheap detachable electric motor that could be used to give a little 'push' up a hill (slowly is fine). Then if I could detach the motor after locking the bike it wouldn't be a theft risk.

I guess it just needs to be about 0.5 - 1 horsepower.

Does anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks,

Poiu

The clip-on ones, because they just rub on the tyre, are invariably rubbish.

Better to got for a hub motor, and a removable battery.

Thanks Stonor. Strange that the motor is $70, the battery is $148 but the whole package comes in at $650, plus you have to build it.

And this one is over $1k - http://www.rubbee.co.uk/

Hopefully they'll be mass produced soon and much cheaper in a couple of years...

Thanks,

Thanks Ben, the hub ones look much cheaper as well. £160 excluding the batteries:
