So in essence i'm looking for some ideas from people for places to visit on a 2-3 weeks tour of the UK in our camper van.
I've led a very sheltered life (!) when it comes to visiting places in the UK so am looking for some inspirational for places worth visiting.
To give you some background, it's me and the wife and our two year old boy in a vw transporter campervan so we would like to stop in family friendly places for a couple of nights and then move on. Ideally the wife would prefer to stay in B&B's etc but she's not averse to spending a night or two in the wilderness in the van.
Places where riding is in close proximity would be great so i can sneak off for a day or two ๐
thanks in advance for all your ideas!
Wiltshires heritage sites?
Avebury, West Kennet long barrow, Silbury Hill (it's next door after all) even Stonehenge at a push if you've never been. Uffington White horse not a million miles away, Ridgeway for a bike or walk.
Camp overnight in Savernake (there is an official site or find a fire road), some OK riding in there for a crafty hour whilst the barbies being fired up ๐
Highlands.Fort William / avimore/ then up to the north west - Ullappool, lochinver / durness
the far NW Highlands up past Ullapool, simply stunning
