Has anyone got Goodridge hoses on M525 brakes? Do the fittings screw all the way into the levers?

I have M555 brakes on my GT Avalanche from about 2004/5, with goodridge braided hoses. I have replaced the levers with LX M585 dual control levers, assuming the banjo fittings will be the same. But no, the instructions that came with the levers are from the Deore M525 brake set so they must have the same fittings. So the other (straight) adapters that came with my goodridge fitting kit do fit the LX levers, but they don't go all the way in, there is still a few mm of visible thread, however it seems to be ok and they have bled ok and seem to work on a road test. Just seems a bit odd, metal onto metal, no rubber O rings, and not going in all the way? I'm reluctant to take it off road in case they don't hold up under heavy use.

Any thoughts or opinions welcome.
Thanks.

Used to have a set, still have, but they now have standard hoses on them. The Goodridge hoses are now on a set of M775s but from what I can remember there was a gap, maybe two or three threads, they didn't butt up tight to the levers.

Pretty sure it's normal.
