Thinking of riding there tomorrow and was wondering if the latest rain has made it a sludge fest?
Buzz or anyone else been up there today?
I was up there Thursday , surprised how dry and in good condition the main track to the trig point was .Still a mess down in the woods following the stream and the perimeter trail through the 2 streams was damp in places but not too bad .
The footpath to trig point is fine.
The bridleway that goes past it on the Shipham side is a joke unfortunately.
The run down from trig point towards charterhouse is much better this week (all the wet mess at the top is better and the rocks on the way down are sorted out now).
This was our second ride on the Mendips and It was ok today 🙂 started at the Swan Inn then rode to the beacon ( lots of cheeky singletrack crossing the fire road)
Then a few downhill rocky sections followed by a grass roll to the bike shop in barrington.
After that it was slip and slide on the lower sections back to the pub.
Great food and a few Ashton 🙂 happy days
