[Closed] Dented Crest rim - straighten or replace

FOund my rear wheel has a dent in the rim, it's running tubeless and the "slow puncture" has now reached "gone flat overnight".

3 options, as I see it

1) go back to tubes
2) straighten the dent
3) replace the rim

I'm happy swapping rims and whatnot, will I get away with re-using the stan's (yellow) rim tape do you reckon, if I go for that option?

Mine have several flat spots, no issues, are you sure it's causing the leak?

I tried to straighten mine, it cracked. I't an olympic tho, yours maybe thicker alu.

Pics? Is the wheel still basically round? (ie is the lip bent but the wheel not?)

You can't reuse stans yellow tape.

Definitely the dent causing the leak, pumped the tyre up and once the tyre was pressure I could hear and feel the air coming out. no pics to hand but the bead of the rim looks like it's been pushed down and the sidewall of the rim bluges out under the dent. Wheel is round though.

dented a 355 which leaked as a result. Bead wouldnt seat. straightened with adjustable spanner and been fine since.

tried to straighten it, couldn't get it to reset using a trackpump so popped out to see a mate with a compressor. that reseated most of it, but still pissing air out of that bit so back to tubes it is ๐Ÿ™

Managed to get mine to seal (new big dose of sealant plus new rim tape) and it's stayed inflated ok

I've managed to fix a couple of badly damaged Flow rims. Straighten out the ding as best you can but don't be too finicky/brutal or you'll crack the bead and then your ****ed. One of my dents didn't quite seal after working it so I took a file and emery paper to the area where it was leaking to make it smooth and get a seal. Next one was worse and rather than risking bending it out more and cracking the rim I smoothed it and built up the area with liquid metal to make it smooth and get a seal.
The worst I have done was where the bead was cracked - again I built it up with liquid metal and made it smooth. I rode it like this for a couple of weeks until I got round to changing out the rim.
