Any recommendations?*

I'm sure we've done this one before but I'm looking for a cheap bulk degreaser (up to 5 litres?) so long as it won't damage paintwork etc.

Fed up with bike shop stuff that 'smells of oranges' and costs £8 a litre

*Please, not 'diesel' or 'fuel oil' 🙂

Jizer, accept no substitutes, make sure it's the full fat version not the Eco freindly one.

I use Fenwicks FS-1. It doesn't smell of oranges and costs £9.99 a litre 🙂

Tesco sell one, a spray thats part of a 3-step system. Seems to work well.
If its bad then good old Gunk.
Or fire, & lots of it.

Stuff from pound land is ok and costs, well a pound.

But a +1 for the full fat jizer. Proper degreaser. Just don't get it on your disk pads. I normally strip the chain off a couple if times a year and give it a bath in the stuff. I think its around £20 for a 5 litre can.

white spirit - cheap as chips from B&Q

EDIT: doesn't smell like oranges but does smell, strangely, of white spirit

MP9. Considerably cheaper than chips. Dilute to personal preference. Wear gloves unless you fancy skin drier than a 10,000 year old Pharaoh...

Bugger I was going to recommend diesel becuase its cheap (relative) does a fantastic job, and probably no less eco friendly than any other product.

If you want a bodge use biodiesel, it's extremely effective and biodegradeable tho. Personally tho I wouldn't use it (or diesel) cos it feels a bit oily.

Thats the one, cant dilute it with water, you rinse it off with water.

You are cheaper buying it in the 5 litre tins.

you dont need to use much as its powerfull stuff
