I've been on quite a few coached sessions at Newport, and I even own a track bike. I've been meaning to get into racing and I just found out the Tuesday league is struggling for numbers, so I've just enquired about the training and accreditation.

In the spirit of the long running racing threads, I'll post my progress in the hope it might inspire someone else ๐Ÿ™‚

They run a beginners course and an improvers course, from which you then get put forward for accreditation. The website is terrible (the Manchester one is much better) so I've emailed for more info. Anyone else interested, I'll pass the info on.

I think there are only about 7 races left in the league, if you don't get accredited by then you will have to wait until winter league starts up again (Octoberish ).

I have raced it before, it is a good way to top up your training.

I am there most Tuesdays because my kids are usually racing. Give me a shout if you are there one week.

You are better off calling them and arranging the course over the phone (in my experience! ).

Once you have accreditation sort out an online account because it makes booking everything much simpler.

I emailed.. but I'll call in a few days if I don't have a response. If their website is anything to go by they aren't well organised.
