I've currently got Maxxis Minions 2.5"s on my freeride bike, but I'm finding it far too hard to ride any decent distance on the road with it. I know what you're going to say, it's not a road bike, yeah, yeah. I don't have a car so I ride it to trails etc. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm talking kinda light downhill stuff. Also got a pair of Nobby Nic Evos and Kenda Blue Dragons, need to find a decent pair and stick to it, going tubeless! (: I've heard the Specialized Purgatory would be a good bet?

Yup spesh purgatory control here front n rear, not too draggy for a 2.3 tyre, well better than others I've had and great grip in all but the really slimey off-road.

HRII, smaller minion, Ardent from the Maxxis Stable. Dropping an ardent on the back would probably make the most difference. Assuming your running ST's too, drop to the 60a versions too.
