[#2135112]

Where can I get a replacement battery pack from for my DX light which I bought last year? Can't remember the exact model details can have a look tonight if required.

Toying with repairing it if the cause of the corrosion to one of the connectors is the weather and not battery acid but interested to know how much and where from for replacements.

I got the following nuke proof battery as they are water tight and a good battery

And there no problems with the connector either

My DX battery seems to have failed after only a handful of rides, although one was in shocking weather. It just won't charge off my laptop lead or a few others i've tried.

Ok cool. I always struggle to find what I'm looking for on DX without a link (major understatement) so I might post my light details up here after I've got home and see if one of you lot can locate me a suitable battery on the site 🙂

I recently had to do this as well I found:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Battery-MagicShine-MJ-808-816-818-LED-BikeLight-/270650218728?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f040298e8#ht_500wt_715

seems like a bargain compared to: http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk/Bike-Light-Accessories/288-c £45 + £7.99 for the case - your havin' a larf

... plus some gaffa tape to make waterproof

at £18.50, much cheaper than anything else.

or they should shortly make the 'new' battery availible seperatly, which is waterproof, and should be cheaper than on the 'led fire torches link above':

Same old one here I think

The new battery looks better but I can't find it sold individually.

My light is a 900 lumen led sscp7. Can anyone put a link up to a suitable battery pack, or indicate which of those above will work please?

Any of those linked to above (though not sure/heard about the nukeproof, but squiff seems pretty adamant it will) should work with your torch INA

Assuming your torch look something like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149
(as in a seperate head unit and battery)

re: the battery pack extension leads - I'm pretty sure they're just 2.1mm standard DC plug & socket

You have a very long URL, and the forum is only set to break line on a hyphen or dollar sign.

(Takes deep breath, prepares for lack of knowledge to be exposed)...

Ok, so I like many others here have one of the DX 900lm magicshine lights. What with all the (spelling) kerfuffle about the batteries I have been considering alternatives...

... Looking through the assorted detritus in my house and shed I have a couple of Nimh batteries, an 8.4 and a 7.2V 3700mah units. Is there a reason that I can't hook one of these up to the head unit? The max voltage for the light is listed as 8.4V - but the 18650's are listed as 3.7, 2 parallel = 7.4V.

I understand that the Li-ions on full charge hit around 8.4, then drop down to the 7.4 level - so presumably I am running the risk of over-volting the LED using the 8.4 pack and should use the 7.2 - or will this not have enough oompf to drive the LED?

(Apologies for use of the words kefuffle and oompf when discussing a technical subject 😯
