it was really busy with walkers everywhere today locally, seems like everyone is out on their one day of exercise today, lots of walkers queuing for the little bit of green space in North Worcestershire. had to get creative to get away from them all.
Went out twice today. Once on the road bike which was terrifying due to the icy roads and the carbon rims having no friction.
Second time was on the HB160. Much better.
No pics. Just imagine a bike propped up against a tree.
A few today from North Kent

we rode into sunny leeds, to the midnight bell. had a lovely roast lamb dinner, and 3 pints of ilkley pale.
just perfect.
I did a fairly big day out in the hills of Aberdeenshire. Mount Battock, Clachnaben and Mount Shade.
The car park was virtually empty when I set off and was absolutely rammed by the time I got back.

Great new years day ride up Dumyat, never seen so many walkers either! Trails were pretty slick but not to bad all things considered

Nice ride in the Peaks today. First proper test of new forks and wheels - very happy!
Strava says I'm the fastest person of the year 😆
I keep meaning to say this, and never do, but I always enjoy your pictures Mr @rocketdog
100 km on road first thing this morning, very very quiet, saw more cyclists than cars!
Bike lying on ground, nice mix of frost and mud

That's a very nice thing to say, thanks 🙂

Me too, although I’m often confused as they appear to be taken by someone else who’s about 10 feet tall. I’m also impressed by how often you get out on your bike!
My day started at dawn with a family and friends walk up Sugar Loaf then a bike ride around the Blorenge. We called it 2 peaks 2020. Black mountains in South Wales, so lucky to live here!
Upnor, my childhood playground!
You used to be able to walk/cycle a path through the length of those woods back in the day. Overgrown and utterly full of rubbish the last time I looked though.
Looks like you timed the tide well though.👍

Long arms and no kids @gauss1777 😄
Went for a ride along the Taff Trail on the hardtail. Was meant to be only 15 easy miles but ended up being 32 tough ones! Legs are a bit sore now as that bike's not really the best on fast, rocky descents. Was great on the fireroads and tarmac though. (hopefully the postimage link will work...)

Lap of Llandegla for me, great weather and really enjoyed it. Was a last minute decision, as visiting parents near Chester. Rented one of their hardtails, really nice to ride something different. But made me realise how much I actually really like my own bike!
Went up Rivi about 9.30 this morning, was a bit quieter than normal. Lovely day for it, however I soon had a spot of mechanical bother (scroll to third pic)...
So I went home and took the road bike out instead, no real plan but ended up doing about 55km and taking in some of West Lancs' finest hills and lanes - with way fewer cars than normal and everyone quite courteous...
Legs took a while to warm up as I did a 10km run last night, but was feeling good the second hour.
Forest Of Dean was pretty quite not many bikers about getting much better the conditions you can have great fun in the mud not a lot of water about mind when I came back to Beechinghurst car park it was crazy packed with walkers etc hardly anyone there about 11 top ride with the Fattie.
Arse.
Started another rides and pics thread before I saw this one. Sorry all.
Anyway, quick ride out to start the year. BB lunched itself 5km from home. Cue a weird walk/scoot/coast end to the journey.
Then a quite -erm - bracing walk at the coast this afternoon.
@colournoise
Third picture looks like a horse’s face, ye should put it in the ‘aargh, my eye’ thread.

Do you know what? I kept seeing a face in there myself while processing it but thought it wasn't obvious enough. Certainly didn't spot it in the flesh at the time...
Once you’ve seen it though, it cannae be unseen eh?

Lol, there’s an ear too
Got out early this morning to Bedgebury Forest for a great ride on my new Fuel EX 9.8

Photos really don't do the Radioactive Orange justice!
No pics as per normal from me, but did back to back (albeit short, ~100-130mins) road bike rides for the first time in months over last two days rather than sticking to Zwift. Bike is filthy due to damp and bits of standing water, but basically matched my 6-week best ~6min power intervals on each day up different cat4 climbs, so at least all those turbo sessions of "doesn't count as cycling" are doing something positive. 😉
