Just to let you all know that there is now about a 12 foot long log about 3 foot in diameter laid end to end on the flattish straight bit at the bottom. It was not there last weekend and appears to have been dragged up from the bottom. Also the big stump from the tree that fell near the top last winter appears to have moved onto the trail a bit more. Neither of this could have been done by a single person or by nature. Last weekend I also moved quite a large branch that had been placed across the trail myself about halfway up.
I've been riding up there since about 1990 and this is the first time I have seen anything of this size purposely moved.

Interesting, on my last ride down there one of the descents (not dame Alice) had similar log and branch traps, with some being laid longitudinally as well as across. I guessed it was horse riders who resent sharing the trail and no doubt think we ride too quickly. However quick I ride I'm in more control than most horses I see out and about!
