I'm at the in-laws in malton and to break up the monotony of this awful wet weather I'm going to dalby tomorrow morning for some all-weather trail centre action.
Don't really know the place. I've ridden it a couple of times but usually head elsewhere.
Anyway, trying to decide what to do tomorrow. Do I just go round the red, or also do the black and/or try to find off piste bits too?
Last time I was there I did the black and it was a very mucky in places, and I didn't find it flowed well. so I'm erring towards just a simple trundle around the red.
Thoughts, anyone?
Red + a play about at Dixon's Hollow jump area is what I normally do.
Some of the off piste is really good but you need to find it and work it into a coherent route, it's hard if you're not familiar with the place, mainly cos it's so big and featureless.
I usually start the red from the main car park by the visitors centre, end up at Dixon's Hollow and, as above, mess around on the jumps.
Then a quick blast round the black (it starts at the other end of the big field next to Dixon's Hollow, picking up the red again afterwards.
Im knacked by the end!
Thanks, will give Dixon's hollow a look for a muck about.
I found some off piste towards south of the loop around vera lyn - likely to be mucky?
Yes, that area is very soft now. Probably best for the trail to stay off until it has dried up a bit. But it's off piste, so there are no rules... Enjoy the ride!
Cheers, thanks. I'm in no mood for schlepping through crap and ruining trails - I might have a look around but will steer well clear of anything looking bad
