Cyclocross World Cup coming to Glasgow in 2026!

Just saw it on Cameron Mason's facebook and confirmed in a couple of other places, Cyclocross World Cup coming to Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park, December 13th.

Should be an excellent day out and there is always the chance of a Scottish winner if Cameron maintains his form through to December (started this season with some strong second places although tailed off towards the end).

Tickets are on pre-sale to BC members now, sadly via Ticketmaster (£15 of fees on top of £40 of tickets 🤬 ) so I'm in. They go on general sale March 10th apparently.

That's initially quite exciting until I realised that it's easier to get from South Wales to Belgium than Glasgow! I'm tempted by the Benidorm round, purely for a tiny bit of warmth in January.

Yeah that's fair, it's good for those of us further north though, I discovered the hard way that getting to Belgium (admittedly with a bike) was an expensive ball-ache for any sort of short break.

It looked wet and miserable this year!

Same problem for me from the south coast. I want to support it but going to Belgium is just easier.

If mid-teens celsius and people standing in the crowd wearing t-shirts is miserable then I'm up for that! (Because that's what I saw on race day. 😀 )

I'll be there for sure. My only concern is van der Poel getting body-checked by a giant rat on the home straight. There are some truly James Herbert specimens down the Kelvingrove these days.

Would also be funny if they named sections after their local history, e.g. Posers' Hill, Cottaging Corner, etc...

That sounds more like WvA's sort of luck ☹️

There were some great spectator signs and flags at the Dublin event. "Down with this sort of thing!", "Careful now" etc.

MvdP would grab the rat, bite it's head off and eat it, all while keeping his kit immaculately white and gaining 90s on his nearest chaser.

Newcastle - Amsterdam ferry? Just had a look, solo, it will be expensive if you want a cabin, but £602 return for two with pedal bikes, 14 to 18th May, that includes two nights of cabins, so doesnt seem too bad to me.

And you can claim it is a mini-cruise! Although you might miss the CX season by a few months. 😀
