Am hoping that someone on Singletrack has fitted these:

Fitting these for multiple bikes onto a plasterboard internal wall must surely require battens? Or some other fixing?
Thanks in anticipation of your words of wisdom. ๐
You can get plasterboard fixings that should do the job though I'd prefer to fix to something more solid.
Those things are a lot of money for glorified hooks though aren't they?
Thanks for replying. What are plasterboard fixings and what do you think would be best?
Yes, they were expensive but are being used in a bedroom so different colours are an improvement on metal!

Although I still wouldn't trust the weight of bikes on the plasterboard wall.
Can you mount the hangers onto the studwork?
Thanks yorkshire89.
If it is a studwork wall you could try to hit the joists and screw directly into those. Tricky to get it right, may involve a certain amount of making tiny holes and accepting you will have to fill some of them. Don't hit any cables or pipes...
Thanks, that sounds sensible although not easy.
Anyone found anything better for hanging enduro / dh bikes on the wall. These don't look that sturdy.
Road bikes plus a hefty gravel bike, they belong to my son. If you have carpentry skills then a floor standing purpose-built frame would I think be a good option. I Googled bike storage and there was an old thread from here where someone had done this and it looked very impressive.

In the shed I use cheap hooks at a height that allows the back wheel rest on the ground. Weight of my 36lb bike therefore doesn't hang from the hook
The weight of my fatbike managed to bring a similar (cheap ebay version) one out of a proper garage wall, but I'm prepared to blame that one on my slightly inept drilling producing less than perfect holes.
As mentioned above, if you can get the height of them right so that the back wheel rests on the ground they are fine

Those GripIt things work well - we have double panel radiators hung off plasterboard using those.
