My youngest son was treated at King's College Hospital last year after a very serious cycling injury.
A group of us are planning a ride at the end of May from King's to Whitstable in Kent to raise some money for the King's Hospital Charity.
Does anyone know of a good route from Denmark Hill out of London? We will be a mixed bunch of experienced cyclists and some "wobblers" so would like to find a route that avoids traffic. Cycle route 1 looks like a possibility but could do with some local knowledge to get us on the right track.
A couple of us will be scoping out a route this Friday as a bit of reconnaissance if anyone could give us a few pointers.

What I had in mind was some real local knowledge that could steer us safely through the Peckham bit towards the river avoiding big traffic junctions and other urban hazards.
Anyone from that London?
