Am about to shorten my brake hoses and wondered what would be the best tool to cut them with?

Having visions of fountains of brake fluid spurting over the walls at the moment ๐Ÿ™‚

I just used a stanley knife with a fresh, sharp blade. Worked fine when I shortened my new SLX's.

Stanley Knife will do. Make sure the end is cut square.

Do you have the yellow clamping blocksblocks they came with? Helps to hold them when you insert the insert.

I use my Park cable cutters as I am not that safe with a knife. Works fine.

Just make sure it's as straight a cut as possible. No dramas if it's not, just makes it less likely to leak. Having said that, my old Shimano breaks were cut a bit wonky and never leaked.

Any sharp knife for standard hoses. Dremel for braided. Cable cutters for neither.
