Just bought some carbon risers off a top bloke on here but want to chop about 2" off each end. Does it affect the integrity to just use a junior hacksaw as effectively you're removing the lacquer/varnish...

I read somewhere that carbon nano-tubes are quite bad to inhale. Use a mask and some goggles and do it outdoors.

Yes fine to cut - it won't make any difference strength wise but DO NOT inhale the dust as its carcinogenic!

the dust is no worse than most wood/metal/plastic, inhaleing any dust is potentialy bad for you so you should always be wearing a mask (and goggles) when cutting just about anything!

spray everything with water that will damp down the dust. Wrap some tape round the bars where you are making the cut it stops any chance of it fraying and if the saw slips you dont gouge the bar. When you have finished the cut use some abrasive paper to give everything a nice smooth finish and the jobs done
