switch to OS maps.
Start at Longnor, straight up to do the Hollinsclough drop from Coatestown, that's the 'big daddy' one with the massive rock. Up the byway and climb past Chrome hill right up to the Buxton Road. Down to nearly flash and then cut right and down to Gradbach via some bridleways to pass a waterfall, sounds nice (are these passable do you know? never been this way. Also the bridleway turns left here but a FP goes straight on near 'Wildstone Rock', is it passable?) ride the Gradbach loop as listed in VB white peak book, have I mapped it out correct? Then back over the road to do the Tenterhill Hollinsclough drop and then up the hill and down past Chrome Hill to finish.
Of course for a big day out I could include Danbower hollow, 3 shires and Cumberland.
Thoughts? Looks alright I thought. Ta.
Hi Mike,
I'd be looking at starting from Flash Bar Stores (Grid ref - 033678) it's only 2 mins up the road from Longnor, has a cafe and offers a better route in my opinion (less road, more fun stuff)
I'll have a look at lunch, plot something and send it by email.
but to answer your questions -
Yes all rideable from Hawks Nest to Far Brook past an Alpaca FarmDown to nearly flash and then cut right and down to Gradbach via some bridleways to pass a waterfall, sounds nice (are these passable do you know? never been this way.
Yes, but not worth the effort anyway. Better to just roll down the road past Spring Head and New Cottage and onto GradbachAlso the bridleway turns left here but a FP goes straight on near 'Wildstone Rock', is it passable?)

The bridleway through Fairthorn is quite interesting (in either direction) and would allow you to skip the A53 altogether, albeit with a down-and-up on the minor road http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=404385&Y=369255&A=Y&Z=120
I wouldn't be tempted to add the track between Bank Top and Dove Head as well though, unless it's in that direction (down).
And the bridleway through Fough http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=405985&Y=367385&A=Y&Z=120 would be much more interesting than your extended road loop around Chrome Hill.
For a fun finale, leave the bike behind and scramble up onto Parkhouse Hill - it's awesome!
Thanks both. That area is a spiders web of fps and bws, difficult to see what's what. I like that area around Chrome hill it has a kinda eery atmosphere that I can't quite describe.
If you start and finish in Danebridge you can end the ride at the excellent brewery. ๐
