[Closed] crankset help - 2 rings, do i need a bash or chain guide?

if i buy these cranks would i need a chainguide as it doesn't have a bash guard to stop the chain dropping?

yes, though some will argue no....

A simple lower roller will be good and easy either ICSG or behind the BB mounted - Black Spire Stinger is good value

No.

I use that setup as a double with no bashguard. I do use a double specific front mech though. Works perfectly.

I can defiantly recommend the Stinger if you go for a chain device.

I run a double crank and no chain guide. Nor do I have any problems with the chain coming off. Why are the XT ones "different"?
