There isn't yet an offical link but from the top of Lee you can cycle over the moor to Cragg. It's a pretty easy natural ride which I feel adds an extra dimension to the quarry riding. The descent back down to Lee is fun too!

Cragg is more of a flowing loop than Lee. Lee is fantastic fun but it's not as flowy. Both different rides but both equally as good!

Video needs more panning shots. It's clear the camera was left on a rock and then ridden past.

Crag Quarry is OK as a diversion on a bigger ride. It's astonishing how many folk travel for miles (by car!) to ride it.

Well you sound like a hoot Scott!

It was just me and my mate with a camera so had no choice but to place it and ride. There were plenty of sheep, but without catering and expenses they just wouldn't pan the camera for me.

We could have filmed each other and panned handheld but it just looks jerky and you lose the feel of speed. Thusly I made a creative decision to show Craggs trails using static angles...with the camera on a mini tripod. I just couldn't find any rocks for the life of me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Slight hijack, but I was planning a trip "up North" for a blast around Lee and possibly Cragg quarries but the point you have just made has got me thinking.....it's a long way for me (Milton Keynes)so how much actual riding is there in the quarries and would it warrant a trip of that distance?

Spend a day wiring all that Lee and Cragg have to offer and you'll go home wrecked and happy!!!

Cragg needs to be pedalled, pumped and worked like ****...

...enjoy. Paul

They're good in a, 'It's nice having these just round the corner' kinda way, but you're going to drive allt he way from Milton Keynes? Go to the Peaks and do some proper biking!

Or... spend a few hours of excellent fun in the quarries and then pop over the hill to Calderdale and spend a day riding better trails than the Peaks. Don't worry about these locals trying to put you outoftowners off from coming and riding 'their' trails. These two quarries plus the wealth of other natural trails around Calderdale make a trip up more than worth it.

I think they're fantastic trails but Milton Keynes is a fair drive. How far are you from Canock Chase? I wouldn't drive 2-3 hours to Canock when I have Lee/Cragg quarry, Gisburn, Dalby and Whinlatter in closer striking distance.

It depends how much you enjoy your local trails and how much you want to discover new ones. To make that distance of travelling worthwhile I would suggest taking a week off work and hit a few north of england centres. Pack your tent and bike and have fun!!

Yukon... How far away do you think MK is? Take a week off? To drive 3 hours north? It's in the same country as the rest of us you know! ๐Ÿ™‚

These quarries offer a kind of riding that is unique anywhere else in the country and that in itself makes them worth the trip. I think us locals sometimes take these sorts of facilities for granted. It's a totally different type of riding from anything you would find locally to MK that's for sure.

Mark I wasn't suggesting that it's not worth the drive but clearly everyone has different tastes in trail centres.

By suggesting driving up north for a week to check out a handful of excellent trail centres, not only makes the travel time more justified but it also ensures that you will certainly experience a good degree of variety ๐Ÿ˜‰

I would suggest making a weekend of it, ride at Lee and Cragg then ride up to Gisburn following the Pennine BW Bivi overnight or stay at the Dog and Partridge ride then round Gisburn then back to Lee Quarry the following day. That would be worth traveling for!
