I have a 17.5" Cove Stiffee and use a 400mm layback Thomson....I do however have to use a shim.

going back I'd probably superglue a 27.2-30.0 shim in place.
the thing I don't like about thomson layback posts is you can't slam them all the way down, there's always 10cm showing.

col569, I have a Cove Stiffee and a 400mm RaceFace Next SL carbon post, it has layback, and is very comfy (and for sale email in profile if interestred) have now moved over to a Hilo adjustable post.

Thomson's are great posts, but not the comfiest, especially on a Stiffee! RaceFace Dues posts are also good, but would recommend a carbon, or ti post to make it comfier ๐Ÿ˜‰

thanks for the replies. Proline sorry but its not really what i am after, i think i might end up going 30.0 by 330mm as it has just enough height in it for what i am looking for. Really could do wityh a latback though as i feel i am slightly too far forward. Not really looking to extend my stem.

the race face ones have an off set on the clamp and I think sets the saddle back further than a thomson with lay back. I had the same problem on my stiffee frame and went for the race face deus. My husband has a Thomson seatpost on his soul, the race face def allowes you to put the saddle further back.
