JUST GOING ABOUT A 1X10 SETUP ON MY WHYTE 19 TRAIL AND JUST A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS, I'M USING SRAM X7 SHIFTER AND REAR MECH TO TRY IT OUT.
1. I HAVE A 9 SPD 34T SINGLE CHAINRING UP FRONT, CAN I USE IT FOR THE 10 SPD CHAIN??
2. SHIMANO DO A 11-36 CASSETTE AND SRAM DON'T, IS THE CASSETTE STILL THE SAME SPACING OR IS IT BEST TO OPT FOR A SRAM CASSETTE??
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE
Don't think there's much difference in the chainrings, i run an SRAM 10 speed chain on 9 speed SLX and it's fine.
The spacing on SRAM and shimano cassette should be the same. Not sure if the shimano cassette needs a shimano chain (shimano chain is directional) though suspect it'd be fine.
both sram and shimano do 36t cassettes
Thought the chainring would be ok but the cassette could be different, don't know why SRAM don't do a cassette in 11-36 just 12-36. Annoying!
Thanks for the post
