We always book a place called The Fold. On the north edge of Keswick (10 minute walk into town). One bedroom. Fairly (relatively) cheap. Store the bikes in the extension/garden room.
Have stayed at Osprey Cottage in Portinscale a couple of times - can thoroughly recommend. Has bike storage. www.ospreycottage.co.uk. 5 mins walk into Keswick.
The family own Jasmine Cottage in Portinscale, a typical Lakeland cottage, beamed ceilings lovely place, it has a sun room small conservatory, a good sized drying room & secure bike storage.
Also very handy for popping out, leaving the car outside & walk to Keswick for a sample of the local ale.
It has Wifi, log burner and some really nice touches.
Next door is the Chalet Café / Restaurant & very good food of a evening.
It's usually listed with Keswick or Cumbria cottages.
