Thinking of getting a Cotic Soul and fitting a 140mm Revelation to use as a general trail bike. Will be fitted with a 75mm stem.

I'm 5'9" so am on the boundary between a small and medium. Tempted to go medium as i don't want to be cramped and it will be used for 'normal' riding rather than jumps and stuff. ๐Ÿ˜€

Does this sound ok or should i go small?

Thanks everyone

I had the same dilema only on the next size up; borderline medium/large. I spoke to Cy about it as well as a few people on here. Cy (and everyone else I should add) was very helpful and it seems as though you can get him on the phone reasonably easily for advice.
I ended up with a medium. Well I say ended up with, what I mean is I've ordered a medium although it's not here as yet so I can't even confirm I made the right decision! ๐Ÿ˜

I am 5"10" (11" at a push) and after speaking to Cy have gone for a medium too, going for a 90mm stem with straight seatpost and going to see what happens, they are quite long looking at the dimensions so the large would be a bit reach i think even for me, waiting for mine too.....

5'11'' here on a medium with 70mm stem and 140mm revs. Reach and controllability are all good. very chuckable with the 70mm stem - used to have 90mm which was more of a stretch. Have a Thomson layback post

Sounds to me that barring any freakish body shape like tiny arms or a really long toro then that size should be bang on for what you want.

6'2 with a medium bfe and 65mm stem. I do use mine for dirt jumps and downhill but its fine for xc stuff so you should be ok

5'7" with a 30" inseam and I've got the small. Fits and rides beautifully with a 90mm stem and seat all the way back on an inline post. In other words, I just about get away with it. As you're a bit bigger, I reckon you should go medium.

90mm stem handles well with 100mm fork, if I wanted to spoil the ride and stick a bigger fork on, I'd probably want a shorter stem and the medium frame.

I spent ages trying to decide. I am 5 8" so right on the crossover of small to medium. I went with a medium in the end running 130 uturn revs which mainly are left at around 120.

Was it the right choice? well yes and no. I am an old roadie so like a longer top tube, I can say my Soul with a 90mm 10 degree stem feels fine, I wouldn't want it any shorter ( i am using an inline seat post). On the other hand the standover is on the edge for my height.

So what I really need is a small for standover and a medium for top tube so some compromise had to be accepted.

It really depends what you prefer but I would have thought a medium may be best if you don't like things too cramped in the top tube.

Should be fine, I'm 5'10 and take a medium but I make it look a bit small tbh. Lots of seatpost on show. Stems are a matter of taste, mine is 60mm and works a charm though climbing can need a wee bit more attention than it did when I ran a 75mm.

ok one more:

5-9, 31 inseam, med & 75mm fine - would have gone larger rather than smaller for more stretch

5'9" here. went with a medium as i run a more xc setup and wanted plenty of room. ran a 90mm stem, tried a 100 for stretch, but going back to a 90mm as i couldn't tell much difference in stretch but the 90 felt better through singletrack etc...

I'm also 5'9" with a medium Soul and have run various stem lengths from 75 to 90 depending on the forks that are fitted. Fit for me has been spot on.

if you can get one, I've heard they have sold out of the new back before they have even put them into stock!
