Just got completely fed up with another ISIS BB failing on me and thinking of [i]finally[/i] going external...
I would be very surprised if it was not done during manufacture given that most bottom brackets these days are external.
Mine arrived without a faced BB, though a faced HT.
It is essential for external BBs.
I nearly cried watching shards of orange paint and beautiful steel come off, but now runs supersmoooth.

Is it really?, I have had plenty of frames with unfaced BB shells yet only suffered a premature HT2 failure on a frame that came with a faced BB!
Didn't fancy get it faced -> faff + pant loss & fitted RF Turbine cranks + BB yesteday - they were fine today running super smooth for 5 hours across Exmoor...
I wonder if they face them before the Hope BB option at HQ?
I will probably die a horrible death on my next ride because of my lack of facing 😯
never faced any frames. if anything my bbs seem to last longer than average.
