Ridden one rides really well lot of dosh though?
Just wondering if a Giant anthem maybe as good?
Why not ride an Anthem so you can compare both for yourself?
I've got an Anthem Advanced '09 & it's awesome, couldn't wish for a better xc race bike. For general xc riding, the Anthem X may be better with the slacker head angle & touch more travel though
whats the difference with the advanced?
The Advanced is carbon, but exactly the same geomtry as the alloy ones
Everyone who has ridden one of our demo bikes has either bought one or is lusting after one. Makes sense to me but then I would say that?!
The 100mm has a steep head angle but I love it. So long as you know what you're doing then it's great (I don't but get away with it anyhow). It's so quick it's silly. The 150mm is really light and incredibly plush. Best climber over certain terrain as well.
Did I say I liked them? I've built my business around them because they were the best bike I tried at Eurobike by far.
flyingfox how many have you sold?
They do seem good ,could I run a 120mm fork on the xc one?
I was lucky enough to test ride one at 24twelve and it was rapid. Will definitely consider next time I'm buying.
Santac - we're a new shop but since end November (when we started) we have sold 2 150mm Pronghorns, a Carbon 100mm Race and an Alu 100mm race. We also have more interest in them from elsewhere. I'm always happy to give a percentage back in goods or even a reduction of sorts, as they are a new bike effectively in the UK, hence the reason we have so many demo bikes.
You can run up to 130mm if you wish. I personally prefer 100mm as it's a great position on that bike (once you've got your head round it, it took me a wee while!) but I can understand why people run longer travel forks.
seem's theres a lot of interest to sell 4 already in 6 weeks.
flyingfox have you sold as many lapierre's?
nope.
Don't think FF are Lapierre dealers though anyway so that shouldn't affect your decision.
There are better bike for the cash than the Pronghorns-they are decent enough mind but not amazing.
We've had folk come in to buy Lapierres and everyone so far has preferred Pronghorn once they've ridden them. If folk are looking at them then obviously the Lapierres are preferable. Lapierres are more laid back while I know the Prongies are awesome climbers and faster downhill; although require more commitment/skill. Each to their own though. If we all liked the same bikes then it'd be pretty boring. Plus I wouldn't have a business full of 'niche' brands.
markd what other bikes would you suggest?
Well i used to have an anthem and loved it. It was an advanced. Had to sell for financial reasons.
You really need to get to an shop and try a few bikes out. It's all speculation without actually trying something.
Also consider a Yeti ASR5 (the new one)...
Don't buy one they are UGLY
IMO of course....
I just went into a shop today, and had a look at one, looks lovely to me... The full carbon frame weighs next to nothing. I would love to have a ride on one.
Flying fox, where is your shop? Im considering the aluminium version. Do you know what the weight would be on an 18inchish frame?
Cheers, Andy

drop me an email addy in profile I have all the info
I rode one (briefly) last year.
It is probably the only bike I would seriously consider swapping my Yeti ASR-Carbon for, it's that good, miles ahead of Sparks, Epics, Fuels, etc. Would love to get a longer ride on one.
looking possible now ,just be given a discount code!!
Lyons,
Our shop is in Central Scotland but we have a van so are hoping to do more demo events certainly in Scotland but perhaps further afield.
With regard to discounts, I have given discounts on every bike so far - I was/am a consumer too so I am happy to give a percentage back or some money off. At the moment it's not a money-making enterprise but the ride needs to be experienced and the brand needs more presence. In my mind, to achieve that, a fat bloke (me) bouncing past you (I hope) on a Pronghorn is one of the best ways to do so.
We have 3 demo 150mm Trail bikes and 2 demo 100mm Race bikes. Massive investment for no return but we like a challenge and while it's a niche product (and the Captain points out it's ugly), it really works for me. I tried tons of bikes at Eurobike and these stood out above all.
I've had a demo Pronghorn for a couple of rides, and out of the admittedly limited number other full sussers I've tried I liked it the best. If I was in the market for one it would be a very strong contender. Great climber, very well built - it just seemed to click straight off for me.
