Hi - I have some Stans tape, valve and sealant - can I use this to convert a DT Swiss rim (4.1d) to tubeless or do I need a specific DT Swiss kit?

No, IME you need a Stans rim strip - then it works fine

OK - think I may have half answered my own question, I need a Rim strip, not the yellow tape...

NP
1 drill out the valve hole (outer only) so the valve sits better
2 install rim strip ensuring its under the rim edge, a screwdriver across the rim helps
3 new tyre, and inflate using soapy water along bead
4 once its up, let it down
5 removed valve core (or take 1/4 of tyre off rim) and put in 50ml of latex
6 inflate and shake around to seat
