I've got a pair of Continental Top Contacts (Winter-type) on my commuter (a 2008 Rockhopper with bog standard wheels) and they are an absolute b*tch to fit.
I have to use metal tyre levers to get them off they are so tight and when putting them back on I have to use them again to get the last bit onto the rim.
I've already had 2 pinch puntures putting them back on (once after fixing a puncture in the middle of Hackney at 7am) and am getting heartily sick of them and have to carry 2 inner tubes.
I had no trouble at all with my Spesh Crossroads they went on and off by hand.
Is it me, should I be doing something different or just a characteristic of the tyre?
Cheers

OK - that's it, back to the Spesh tyres. Another puncture this evening followed by another pinch puncture swiftly followed by me knackering the presta valve on my emergency backup inner-tube in frustration then the tube home.
Not a happy bunny this evening.
