Hi all anybody useing rubber queen 2.2 29er tyres what do you think or any good ideas for 29er tyres
Cheers
Rich
Hiya Rich,
They're not Black Chili unfortunately, so will be made of slippery rubber..... might be OK on the rear maybe. Have a look at the reviews for the 26er non-BC rubber queens for an idea of how they are.
Other options would be (if you're wanting a 2.3 / 2.4 trail tyre, which the 2.2 RQ really is)
On-one Smorgasboard 2.2 or Chunkymonkey 2.4
Conti Mountain King II 2.2
Geax Gato 2.3
Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.25 / 2.4
Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.4
Bontrager 29-4 2.3
That's a good starter 🙂 Depending on your rims, i.e. if Stans don't get the Geax TNT or the Schwalbe pre-2011.... which is hard to work out. They wont fit. Or at least they will, then they will fly off in your face and make you poop yourself.
wouldnt touch conti's with a bargebpole on my 29er since a pair of kings tried to kill me....
Schwalbe, Maxxis, On-One (Maxxis) or Kenda. Only things going on my 29er...
I've got one on the front of my unit, much better than the rapid rob that was there, found it grippy enough at Afan skills bit on Sunday, will test it further on the weekend. Not convinced I need a super tacky rubber for this bike( after all i spent 15 year on all manner of shite tyres and didn't die)

most online ads mislead, they aren't black chilli and are essentially rubbish/ death on a stick

I have a 3 ride old one you can have for £15 posted, (with signed disclaimer that you won't sue when it dumps you)
Recomendations for winter/ all round
Bonty ACX, cheap cheerful surprisingly good
Halo Choirmaster nice if a little heavy, confidence inspiring
Schwalbe Nobbly Nics, got some pacestar and they seem to work well
