I got an earful this morning from a van driver for a national company.

What's likely to get him into the biggest do-do? I'm thinking an email or letter to the CEO...any thoughts?

Emails can be easily 'lost' in the system - A letter cc'ing in another important figure is probably a good idea.

Phone them and tell them you require a call back within 2 hours with a response over what they intend to do about it.

if they don't then you are submitting a story to the Evening News. I did this and it worked.

Repeatedly slashing his tyres and writing C U Next Tuesday in ever increasing letter size until he quits or is sacked is probably the best option.

Although I do like TBC's approach.

What did you do to deserve an earful ?

May be fairly important to how people answer.
If it was totally your fault, best to do nothing.
If it wasn't then sending a letter or making a phone call for sure.

I CBA speaking to anyone about it but I like the idea of a threat to take it to the press...I might start with the Edinburgh Advertiser 😀

I was actually on death junction (that's heading south at the Bedlam theatre in EDinburgh) in the RH lane, about 6" to the right of the lane marking (*waits for TJ to comment*) bloke just started shouting etc. then passed me when the bike lane starts...not sure if road gets wider there?

Caught up with him and politely asked what the problem was, got another earful...and his plates 🙂

Phone up company
Ask to be connected to transport manager
Politely give factual details
Then relax

If he really is a **** then someone else may have done the above too

Ah yes I know that intersection well, its a right old mess in the mornings with all the delivery drivers double parked, then the bus stop waaayyy too close to the traffic lights. Folk kind of float across to the right lane to get around the bus then cut back in. Have witnessed a few road rage incidents there on my coffee run.

Phone the company and ask for the transport manager's name. Then get put through to HIS boss. At an early stage in that conversation, get HIS bosses name, then tell the story.
Oh how the shit tumbles down in big business, everyone is afraid of upsetting their bosses boss.

I don't know - I have been yelled at by people who weren't happy about something staff member did. Best tactic is to apologise, admit no wrongdoing and get rid of them ASAP. Doesn't mean their version of events is the right one. Or the worker. Takes two to Tango...

That is a bad junction, also a bit further where the road coming from Potterow merges is bad as taxis won't stop and expect you to stop instead.

I was thinking about this today actually having seen some bad things recently, I was wondering what the police response would be if you reported an incident of dangerous driving, I'm guessing not a lot...

Made worse by the crazy exit from the cycle lane across the Meadows. Most cyclists just stay on the pavement rather than go around the one-way system, can't say I blame them. I saw some plans at a architecture lecture once that involved getting rid of all the roads around there, esp that dual carriageway, and make a lovely piazza linking the Museum and Bristo Square. Bit of a fantasy but how great would that be ! Do it properly and make a square of Chambers. Bulldoze the Grassmarket, install an underground car park and feed all the traffic through there, linked to the western approach road.

Sounds good. Princes St is so peaceful without the traffic, would be great if it was pedestrianised with cafes and so on.

Yeah a proper European capital feel it would have. But won't happen, they spent the money it would take on about 5 trams, to run about 50 metres.

Bigjim I've reoerted worse to LBP - bottom line, without independent witnesses/evidence it's my word against theirs - and Copper suggested we might both have been guilty of breach of the peace for the discussion!
