Local community bike ride yesterday, great event for families with over 600 riders. The usual observations:
- Adults riding fantastic retro bikes with no idea that their bike is so great.
- Rusty Tesco specials that have sat in the garden since last years ride
- Saddles waaay to low, tyres waaay too flat
- It is not now, and never will be, acceptable to turn up to a 5 mile family bike ride on a carbon Dogma with full Sky team kit, including blue Oakleys, sucking on energy gels
But then, boooom, the ultimate niche bike. A guy overtook me on one of these!
