I think it may be the awful bars, cheaper model so no lock out and I've been on a fully rigid ss bike for far too many years.
Please can you show yours so I can see how you have set it up?

No lockout or propedal? What model was that? What year btw?
Here's mine - 09: changed to 120 forks, shorter stem from old bike. I'm missing it atm - waiting for warranty replacement.

2010 base model, supposed to be the new non cracking frame one.

Good! I havent heard of any 2010/11 failing.
What are you not "bonding" with on yours?
Also what shock came with yours? It's easy to get a used 165 i2i rp2 / rp23 with propedal - probably about £100.
##Edit - Oh - and what fork has yours got?
